Habitat For Humanity built communities in Suquamish, East Bremerton, and Navy Yard City. Currently they’re building a 32 home community in Port Orchard. The most current project includes a Neighborhood Revitalization program. The goal of this program is to help aging neighborhoods build community.

Kitsap Strong

Kitsap Strong is a community project focused on the health and well-being of all people in the county. This includes children, families, and adults.
Their focus is to create a space in the community for people to come together and talk about issues in our society. Topics include homelessness, multi-generational poverty, mental health awareness, substance use, and criminal activity. The goal is to hold each other accountable and being patient when it comes to finding solutions.

Gather Together is familiar with the cycle of poverty for low-income individuals.  Even with all the resources and help available, it’s hard for some  people to keep up with challenges.
Challenges include getting to appointments on time or submitting necessary paper work. Or even staying in school and keeping a job. That’s where Gather Together steps up. They provide necessary kinds of services, such as transportation, workshops and more.

The Arc of the Peninsulas

It began in 1938 by a small group of dedicated and involved parents and community members. The Arc of the Peninsulas has changed the way the public views people with disabilities. This includes children, youth, adults, and the elderly.
They provide services that are necessary for people with disabilities. Disabilities could be both intellectual and developmental. Programs offered include: Parent to Parent Support, Advocacy, Community Engagement, Heathy Relationships training, Job Success training, and Specialized Habilitation.
The Arc encourages opportunities for living, learning, interacting, and working within the community.

Scarlet Road offers hope and freedom to individuals who have been sexually exploited. They use holistic care to heal the victim . The goal is to prevent victimization through intervention and education. Scarlet Road provides help to anyone looking to escape the sex industry.
Scarlet Road supports survivors to find healing from the pain they’ve experienced. They work to change the perception around gender-based violence. This comes by educating first responders and the community as a whole.
They’re here to change social perspectives and educate the community. But most of all, support victims of sexual exploitation. They provide long-term support to anyone wanting to leave sex trafficking.

Kitsap Rescue Mission

The Kitsap Rescue Mission offers reliable shelter for anyone in need of a place to sleep. They are open year-round and offer meals, clothes and hygiene supplies to those in need. The Kitsap Rescue Mission helps people with issues that come with homelessness.
The mission started as a meal provider. Over the years, it’s become a valuable safety net for those facing homelessness in Kitsap County. Currently they are an ongoing stay shelter open every day of the year.
They help people deal with unresolved trauma, mental illness, substance use, domestic violence and other health issues. The Kitsap Rescue Mission is able to offer care, rest, meals and opportunities to those in need. They’re able to do this because of the support received from the community.

Kitsap Community Resources offers hope and opportunity to low-income families. They do this by providing resources that promote self-sufficiency and stability. Their vision for Kitsap County is a place where everyone has the chance to thrive.
Over the years, Kitsap Community Resources has started quite a few programs throughout the county. These include: Senior Information and Assistance, Kitsap Community Health Centers, several community food banks, and the County Housing Authority.
Programs they’ve helped form include: Hospice of Kitsap, Sound Institute, and Kitsap Habitat for Humanity and Bainbridge Helpline. These successful organizations serve low-income individuals in the county.
